Kelsey is a solicitor admitted in the High Court of Hong Kong, and her practice focuses on dispute resolution and regulatory compliance.

Kelsey has advised clients in a wide range of contentious commercial litigation, including general commercial and contractual disputes, shareholder conflicts, debt recovery, insolvency actions as well as asset preservation. Kelsey also has extensive experience in handling regulatory matters and investigations conducted by the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC), the Hong Kong Accounting and Financial Reporting Council (AFRC), the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (SEHK) for a diverse client base, including Hong Kong-listed companies, financial institutions, and individuals on cases involving stock market manipulation, corporate compliance, and financial disputes.

Relevant experience

  • A Hong Kong-listed financial institution with established presence on multiple legal proceedings for claims arising out of breach of margin loan agreement, including winding-up proceedings against a BVI company, bankruptcy proceedings against individual in Hong Kong for breach of deed of personal guarantee, and litigation proceedings in Ontario, Canada to enforce judgment.
  • A Hong Kong-listed leading commercial bank on potential disputes and litigation proceedings arising from tenancy agreements.
  • A high-net-worth individual in a substantial shareholder dispute with a former business partner in multiple court proceedings, covering claims of breach of contracts, breach of fiduciary duties, injunction applications and winding-up proceedings.
  • Various individuals and companies engaged in crypto business in disputes with shareholders, business partners, and customers.
  • Multiple individuals and corporate victims of wire fraud on asset recovery, including applications for Mareva injunctions and garnishee orders.
  • Multiple Hong Kong-listed companies, SFC-licensed corporations and individuals on interviews, investigations and disciplinary actions conducted and taken by the SFC in relation to suspected stock market manipulation, provision of false/ misleading information inducing share transactions.
  • Operator of a Hong Kong virtual asset investment platform in relation to the SFC's investigation and the HKMA's enquiries.
  • A former executive director of a Hong Kong-listed furniture manufacturer on the SFC’s investigation and the SEHK's investigation of potential non-compliance with Chapters 13, 14 and 14A of the Listing Rules.
  • An executive director and the chairman of a delisted Hong Kong company on defending against the SFC's application for a director disqualification order.
